Some Ports are selected for longer aging in wooden barrels. Gradual exposure to air concentrates and intensifies its initial fruit, giving rise to more complex characteristics such as honey and spices underlined by deep aromas of dried apricots, hazelnuts and vanilla.
In order to have a 30-year-old Port, a blend is made with a mixture of different Tawny Port Wines in which the average age is 30 years.
