The Blandy family is distinguished by being the only family, of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade, that still owns and manages its own original wine company. Over the course of its long history on the island, the family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine. Its members continue to live in Madeira, thus maintaining a tradition that dates back to 1811 – Two centuries of production of a wine of excellence.
The Bual and Malvasia wines aged separately 5 years in American oak casks by the traditional “canteiro” method. The wine was submitted to 1 stage and finishing before mixing. After more than 6 months mixed the wine was bottled, signed by the enologist Francisco Albuquerque.
