Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira has one of the best vineyards in the Douro: it is situated in the most beautiful, remote and picturesque area of the Douro Valley. Originally acquired by Dow’s in 1890, this Quinta’s vineyards have contributed a lot to the best Vintages of the 20th century made by Dow’s.
Exceptionally aromatic, with aromas of violets, which is fairly typical of vintage ports from Dow’s vineyards Touriga Franca exposed south, who in 2012 reached a perfect maturity. Tambe there nose touches of blackberry, black currant and black plum. Still are present notes cistus, contribution of Touriga Nacional, which often expresses this perfume. This is a vibrant wine that shows already quite complex and subtle. Has something of spices, from the relatively high proportion of Sousão, which are balanced by fresh acidity and minerality by this. In the mouth, and characteristic ds Dow‘s dry style is shown through the long finish tannins and ripe, but firm.
