Altano white, a Douro wine from the Symington family that is born from Malvasia Fina, Viosinho, Moscatel Galego! A fresh, fruity and super lively white wine!
The Symington family was among the pioneers of modern Douro wines. In the 90’s they started producing Douro DOC wines from the same native vineyards and grape varieties that have always produced excellent Port wine. They launch the first red Altano in 1999 and don’t look back. Today, the Altano range has global distribution and the wines have been recognized for their quality and distinction.
This white wine from the Douro valley is produced from grapes from the highest vineyards, with a cooler climate. Winemakers Charles Symington and Pedro Correia sought to obtain some skin contact, in order to produce an aromatic wine with notes of tropical fruits and a refreshing acidity.
ALTANO is very fresh in the aromas of summer fruits / tropical fruits; peach, apricot and pineapple, which stretch on the palate. Very fresh and alive in the mouth with slightly vegetable and green apple notes, with a good acidity giving a good final cut to the set.
