Located at an altitude of over 400 meters, benefiting from cool nights during the grapes’ maturation phase, the vineyard in the alameda is found on granite-based soils and arranged in several gentle hills facing north and west. The main varieties planted here are Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Encruzado, uva-cão and arinto, as well as a plot of 1 hectare of old vines with several mixed varieties. As a curiosity, there is still half a hectare of pinot noir, which gives rise to an elegant rosé wine.
With enology by Anselmo Mendes, in this Alameda de Santar Parcelas, after 4 months in vat on the fine lees, with light batonnage, the wine is bottled and subjected to a new stage of at least 3 months in bottle until it reaches the market.
