It is in 1988, at the northernmost point of Portugal, in the heart of Monção and Melgaço, the territory of excellence for Vinhos Verdes, that the history of Quinta do Regueiro begins. Located in the place of Côto, parish of Alvaredo, municipality of Melgaço, this family business took its first steps with the planting of the first 3 ha of 100% Alvarinho vines.
The years that followed were times of learning, growth and a lot of dedication. The harvests and production of wine for own consumption soon began to surprise and to show its unique character.
This Alvarinho Maturado is born from vines with an average age of 30 years. The winemaker Paulo Rodrigues Cerdeira fermented this alvarinho in new 300 and 700 liter French oak barrels. This was followed by an 18-month stage with batonage, giving rise to a limited production of 3900 bottles.
