Batuta is one of the most popular wines at Niepoort, produced with grapes from Quinta do Carril, from a vineyard that is over 70 years old facing north and from old vines that are around 100 years old near Quinta de Nápoles.
Batuta results from a delicate vinification, with prolonged macerations, but with little extraction where all the details are carefully considered to obtain a complex, fine and elegant wine. It is full of concentration, typical of old Douro vines, but at the same time fresh and delicate.
Batuta is very flexible in combining with meat and fish such as monkfish, squid or roasted octopus.
