This project was born from the desire of three winemakers, Jorge Moreira, Francisco Olazabal and Jorge Serôdio Borges, to make a wine together. The region chosen was the Dão, a region for which we have a common admiration that was born in tasting older wines, from the 60s and 70s that surprise us for their elegance and freshness. The identity and complexity of these wines is indeed remarkable and serves as an element of inspiration to create the MOBs, whether they are white or red. The vineyards, in a total of fifteen hectares, ten located in Seia and five in Gouveia composed of old vineyards, are located in one of the coldest places in the region, at the foot of the Serra da Estrela, the conjunction of altitude, soils and varieties of grapes from the estate convinced us that it would be the right place to move on.
Fermented in small stainless steel vats and oak barrels. It aged for eight months in a barrel, with a light battonage.
It is a wine with a beautiful golden color due to the maturation and richness of the Encruzado and Bical grapes. Subtle aromas are dominated by a complex bouquet of white fruits, herbs and minerality. In the mouth, it has an opulent impact, but thanks to its great acidity it becomes very balanced and long.
M.O.B. Lot 3 “blinks the eye” to the past with its complex and austere aromas that do not fit with conventional light aromatic whites.
