Vinhos Verdes (Minho)
Quinta de Covela practices organic farming on granitic soils that form a natural south-facing amphitheater. A scenery of terraces planted at low altitude on the right bank of the Douro River in the southern part of the Vinhos Verdes Region (Minho). Cold winter and hot, dry summer – on the border between the continental climate of the Douro valley and the maritime influence of the Douro Litoral.
For this Avesso, the winemaker Rui Cunha chose a spontaneous fermentation in used 300 liter oak casks from Austrian and French forests. Stage on total lees, with batonnage.
A great Avesso, gastronomic and with aging potential.
