Region: Azores (Pico Island).
A unique terroir in the world, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, at the base of the volcanic mountain of Pico, the vineyards are planted in the crevices of the rock, next to the sea, where you can hear the "crab singing", because here there is more sun and hot. A proximity of, at times, few meters that requires the protection of the vineyard by walls (corrals), from strong and saline winds of the Atlantic. This Arinto dos Açores Indígenas results from spontaneous fermentation from indigenous yeasts, that is, from the place, from the air, from the surrounding environment.
Clean citrus yellow color. Pure, citrus mineral aroma with grapefruit notes. Tense, fresh attack with a very present minerality and acidity, no persistence and saline notes, iodine, toasted bread.
Ideal partner for oysters, barnacles and clams. It also works with grilled fish, salads and fresh seafood.
Winemaker: António Maçanita.
