Alexandre Mariz, manager of Quinta dos Malvedos and neighboring Quinta do Tua, was very optimistic about the prospects for the harvest and, together with the chief winemaker, Charles Symington, and the winemaker from Malvedos, Henry Shotton, identified the best vines Of region. Two properties from which Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) wines mix, were largely originated. Some of the best lots of wines were extracted from the old vineyard and Tinta Amarela in Tua, while both properties also delivered excellent Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes. Smaller contributions were made by old vines from other vines that traditionally supply Graham: Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas. The grapes were trodden in the mills of the small Malvedos winery.
Very deep purple in color with an intense garnet border. The wine offers attractive aromas of red and black fruits with some lovely notes of mint and eucalyptus. It is generous on the palate, with the typical opulence of Graham'S, revealing delicious blackberry fruits highlighted by ripe and polished tannins, which give the wine great freshness and vitality. The finish reveals the complexity and elegance of Grahams signature in equal measure.
