Taylor’s announces the launch of a sublime 60 year old Port Wine, which enriches the highly acclaimed Casa Single Harvest Port Collection, founded in 1692.
A limited and exclusive edition of an extraordinary and unique Port Wine.
Brown core surrounded by a wide pale gold rim with olive green reflections. Powerful nose of extraordinary complexity and opulence, revealing an aroma with multiple nuances and dimensions. Initially, soft reminiscences of molasses, dry fig and sultana emerge, mixed with aromas of marzipan nuts. As the wine opens, aromas of cedar wood and dry tobacco leaf emerge, along with subtle notes of black pepper and cardamom and a fresh, fleeting touch of citrus. All of this wrapped in a powerful aura of woody vanilla aroma, the legacy of decades of aging in the hull. In the mouth the wine is dense, round and concentrated, with a thick velvety texture, quite rich and sweet on the average palate, at the end an explosion of fresh acidity filled with persistent flavors of caramel butter, almond, orange marmalade and nuts. A wonderfully balanced wine, still clean and fresh despite its many years of aging in wood.
