Producer: Herdade do Peso.
Walking freely in the montados, where it feeds preferentially on acorns, the Alentejo pig, a native Portuguese species, is the only surviving herding pig in Europe. By the way it marks the landscape and preserves the Mediterranean woods of the region, it is a heritage of the Alentejo. It is also a gastronomic treasure and an invitation to pleasure. By associating it with this wine we combine two major Alentejo symbols at the table.
Grape Varieties: 50% Alicante Bouschet, 30% Touriga Nacional, 20% Syrah.
Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Wine with intense aroma, complex and attractive. A blend of aromas from the most fruity side to the busiest side. In the mouth it has volume, very well integrated tannins and good acidity, which make it an extremely "greedy" wine.
Ideal to accompany meat dishes, preferably oven. However, it is a wine that, due to its balance between fruit and tannins, is very versatile and can be present in most meals, from the simplest to the most elaborate.
Winemaker: Luis Cabral de Almeida.
