Quinta do Poeira is located in Provesende, along a slope in the Pinhão valley, on the right bank of the river of the same name.
Your exposure to the north is a key aspect of the style of wine you are looking to make. Temperatures in the region are always very high in summer, and on a north-facing slope the grapes ripen always slower, better preserving aromas, flavors and acidity.
Aged 14 months in French oak barrels.
Poeira tries to be a balanced and elegant wine. In general Douro wines are sustained in tannin, but Poeira is sustained in acidity. A wine that is very drinkable and desirable when new but at the same time has the ability to evolve. I want each wine to be the mirror of the vineyards that give rise to it, keeping its profile but keeping up with the variations that occur in the vineyard year after year.
