- 60% Touriga Franca
- 30% Touriga Nacional
- 10% Yellow Ink.
Although the Pombal's Vineyard with its contribution of Touriga Nacional baptising this wine, the structural variety of the final blend is the Touriga Franca - for this it is a wine with greater aptitude for earlier consumption, where interest to highlight the qualities aromatic, subtlety and elegance.
Color garnet with violet rim.
Gives typical Touriga Franca variety of characteristics with lush floral notes of rock rose and violet, but also some less obvious suggestions of spices, eucalyptus and wild berries.
Very strong on the palate, spicy, generous and full of determination, with hints of black cherry, blackberry and subtle notes of black chocolate.
Firm but simultaneously with a final round of persistent mouth.
Ageing of 10 months in French oak barrels of 400L. After bottling stage follows storeroom of at least 6 months.
The Vesuvius Pombal is a wine that will provide great pleasure to those who prefer to drink it now, in the case of a very accessible and seductive wine.
However, it has very good potential stage in bottle over the next 3-5 years.
Winemakers Charles Symington and Pedro Correia.
